WASHINGTON (Reuters) – “We are all here for your happiness,” a female voice said in a new television ad, which was released on Wednesday by the National Women’s Political Caucus, a group of liberal women.
The video features three women who were elected to Congress in 2014.
The narrator describes how they were part of a coalition that pushed for the passage of the Affordable Care Act and then was “determined to change that and make sure it’s a reality for women everywhere.”
In the United States, the first-ever women-only chamber of Congress has been elected in the House of Representatives in a historic election.
A similar chamber has been established in the Senate.
In a similar move, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said in November that women would be able to vote in his state’s 2018 gubernatorial election.
But he said he planned to allow women to vote if they are over the age of 18.
The ad will air during New York’s state primary on March 5.
